It is my understanding that aircraft with canards have enhanced slow flight characteristics, and I'm curious to know why the engineers decided put a canard on the XB-70? So it could fly more slowly than otherwise for landing? Good enough reason, but one wonders about the other end of the envelope, and after all this aircraft was ALL about that other end of the envelope. That is, how does the canard influence things in hypersonic flight?

Thanks, SOS!Carter Kaplanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12238488445515604870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5543141244177287208.post-17422800055190081152010-04-14T19:42:14.243-04:002010-04-14T19:42:14.243-04:00This is great, I like your blog and the prose poem...This is great, I like your blog and the prose poem beneath is um .. exhilarating!Save Our Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10352778714326887201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5543141244177287208.post-8709051400127361162010-04-08T13:52:29.266-04:002010-04-08T13:52:29.266-04:00The stall-speed must be ridiculously low.The stall-speed must be ridiculously low.Timeshadowshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09952601433965644275noreply@blogger.com
